TAKING MEASUREMENT
I. POSITION THE CUFF
The armband is placed on the left arm.
However, if your doctor has diagnosed you with poor circulation in that arm, or if you are in one of the situations explained in the "Warnings" section on page 9, you can use your right arm.
1. Remove all jewelry, such as watches and bracelets.
Roll up or roll up your sleeve to expose the skin. Make sure your sleeve is not constricting your arm.
2. Connect the cuff to the monitor by inserting the air plug into the Air Jack.
3. Place your hand through the cuff loop. Pull the cuff until it reaches your upper arm.
4. Make sure that:
• the lower edge of the cuff is located between 2 and 3 cm above the elbow,
• that the pipe is on the outside, aligned with your middle finger.
5. Adjust your cuff.
Tip: Your cuff is tight if you can insert a finger between your arm and the cuff.
II. SET UP CORRECTLY
To take a measurement, you should be relaxed and comfortably seated in a room at a comfortable temperature.
• Sit upright in a comfortable chair with your back resting on the backrest.
• Do not cross your legs and keep your feet flat on the floor.
• Your arm rests comfortably on a table or flat surface, palm up.
• Your cuff should be placed on your arm at the same level as your heart.
• Relax as much as possible.
III. TAKING THE VOLTAGE
This product uses the oscillometric measurement method to detect blood pressure. Before each measurement, the unit establishes a "zero pressure" equivalent to air pressure. Then, the product begins to inflate the cuff, while the unit detects the pressure oscillations generated by the pulses, beat by beat, which are used to determine the systolic and diastolic pressures, as well as the pulse rate.
1. Press the 'start/stop' button to turn on the device and take the blood pressure.
2. The blood pressure monitor begins to inflate for measurement and displays “00”.
3. Inflation and measurement
The value displayed on the screen increases, before slowly decreasing, the heart rate symbol flashes.
4. Displaying results and storing them
Once the measurement is complete, the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and pulse rate are displayed on the screen.
Consult your doctor if you get unexpected results.
IV. TURN OFF THE DEVICE
Press the 'start/stop' button to turn off the upper arm blood pressure monitor. Otherwise, the blood pressure monitor will automatically turn off after 1 minute.
For more information on interpretation of results and data management, or contraindications, see the instructions for use.
