Metrology at the heart of our DNA
In 1908, Lucien Terraillon bought a watchmaking and building dial company in the Jura and founded Terraillon et Cie.
His son Paul took over the business in 1932 and continued to modernize the industrial tool.
At the beginning of the 1940s, Paul Terraillon sought to diversify his production and saw an opportunity in measuring devices, particularly kitchen scales.
1946
Invention of the automatic mechanism
In 1946, Paul Terraillon designed an automatic mechanism that made the use of counterweights obsolete, ensuring great accuracy and simplifying the weighing of food.
Terraillon intensified production of kitchen scales, baby scales, and weighing scales, while maintaining its watchmaking business. The first bathroom scales were produced in 1950.
It was in the 1970s that Terraillon, which has since settled in Annemasse (74), made a name for itself in France and internationally by manufacturing scales that have since gone down in history.
Collaborations with great designers of the time such as Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper would make certain scales world-renowned and become iconic.
1969
The BA2000 kitchen scale
makes its entrance to the MoMA.
Designed by Marco Zanuso, the BA2000 makes its debut at MoMA in New York, a symbol of innovation and timeless design.

Marco Zanuso signe le design de la T111, le pèse-personne Terraillon qui restera le modèle iconique des années 70, déclinée dans plusieurs versions avec son effet loupe pour l’affichage du poids.
En version simili cuir ou moquette épaisse, la T111 s’adaptait à tous les styles de salle de bains. C’est devenu de nos jours un modèle vintage très recherché.

First digital scale

Launched in 2010, the Macaron kitchen scale embodies the perfect blend of French design, precision, and indulgence. Inspired by the famous dessert of the same name, it captivates with its soft curves, glossy finish, and mouthwatering colors ranging from raspberry to caramel, meringue, and licorice.

Starting in 2012, Terraillon took a new step in technological innovation by creating an entire connected ecosystem dedicated to health. Bathroom scales, nutritional kitchen scales, activity trackers, blood pressure monitors, and thermometers will now be able to connect to the MyHealth mobile application developed by Terraillon. This visionary and interoperable ecosystem offers users simple and intelligent management to monitor their health, combining practicality and modernity. The Web Coach POP scale, with its avant-garde design, has been the cornerstone of the Wellness Coach ecosystem, once again demonstrating Terraillon's expertise in the field of innovative measuring instruments.
2015
First connected nutritional scale
Terraillon , the market leader in kitchen scales, offers a NutriTab nutritional kitchen scale. This connected object integrates functions to facilitate access to nutritional information on the foods consumed.
Connected to the My Health application, simply place a food item on the glass tray to display the data in real time: weight, calories and main Recommended Daily Intakes (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, fiber and sodium).
2018
Sleep aid
Terraillon is expanding its offering and collaborating with the European Sleep Centre to develop Homni , a sleep aid connected to the MySleep Application.
Homni will be followed by Dreamer, and Aloha , all based on the principles of light therapy for natural falling asleep and waking up.
The Sleep Collection will then be extended with the Zen Box , based on sound therapy.
2022
First bathroom scale made from recycled plastic
To go further, Terraillon wanted to create a scale that was as environmentally friendly as possible, with its platform made in France from 100% recycled materials, reduced packaging and a pack made from recycled cardboard.
Assembled in France, FRENCHY boasts a unique design and a new story around the circular economy.
2023

Terraillon joins the BPI France Health Industries & Technologies accelerator and becomes a member of the La French Care community.

Official Supporter of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Building on its successes and the recognition of health and sports professionals, Terraillon became a Supporter in 2024
Official of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. The brand has provided for the event:

- Household scales, essential for measuring weight and analyzing body composition for impedancemetry scales on the “well-being” axis

2025
Launch of the Mini Massager & sports partnerships
Terraillon launches the Mini Massager , a compact massage gun designed for active women, combining muscle recovery and daily well-being.
This launch is accompanied by strong sporting partnerships, with boxing champion Sofiane Oumiha and networks of gyms such as Fitness Park and L'Orange Bleue , to reach an active and engaged audience.
